The Teachers


Jennifer Kettmann
Teacher Jennifer has been teaching for more than 15 years, primarily in kindergarden and first grade. She graduated from Healdsburg High School and continued her education at U.C. Davis where she majored in English and minored in Education.
She received her multi-cultural credential with Spanish emphasis from U.C. Davis. She went on to Fresno State to receive certificates as both an English Reading Specialist and as a Spanish Reading Specialist.
Teacher Jennifer is entering her seventh year teaching at Healdsburg Community Nursery School, and both her children attended the school.
Julie Forrest
Assistant Director, Morning Teacher and Co-Teacher of Spanish Enrichment
Teacher Julie has a diverse teaching background that includes preschool, elementary, middle school and college assignments in California, New Mexico and Missouri. Locally she has been a kindergarten teacher at Mattie Washburn Elementary School in Windsor, an enrichment teacher at Healdsburg Elementary School (Fitch Mountain), and a preschool teacher at Live Oak Preschool in Healdsburg since moving to the area from Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2003.
Julie earned her post-baccalaureate multi-cultural teaching credential in elementary and secondary education at the University of New Mexico. She is certified to teach Pre-K through 12th Grade and holds a Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development (CLAD) Certificate as well.
Julie earned her B.S. in Crop Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and her M.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has had a rich, multi-faceted professional life--including 6 years of service as the Project Director for a national youth safety and health program--that allows her to enrich her students' learning in meaningful and balanced ways.
